PACKAGING lung cancer drugs in inhalable bubbles could allow bigger doses to be delivered to tumours without the side effects associated with chemotherapy. Because chemotherapy drugs are injected into the bloodstream they reach all organs, not just the lungs. This can damage the healthy organs, limiting the doses people can receive. What’s more, the lungs don’t take up enough of the drugs this way. Delivering cancer drugs directly to the lungs is the obvious answer, but how?
